This post is in thanks to our friend Jules in Milwaukee! If you are in the Milwaukee area and don’t follow her already, you definitely should! She has the best recommendations, is just an all-around awesome girl! A couple of weekends ago we had a few hours in between restaurant visits and remembered that Jules had posted about a new Milwaukee coffee shop/wine bar, FOMA at the MARN. So we decided to stop in and grab a coffee.
Foma is such a great concept, it’s student-run and blends the culture and community of Milwaukee! Students learn professional skills, in a great space, the MARN, focused on supporting creative professionals in building local and sustainable art practices. So think great coffee/wine bar meets art gallery!
It’s Cute and charming, with a minimalistic vibe and wide-open space. There is a beautiful serving bar, large windows with great light, and a bunch of tables for sitting with friends or setting up your laptop and getting some work done.
They have a great menu with lots of great options. There is a well-crafted wine list, beers on tap, and mimosas, as well as a great coffee menu. We are going to go ahead and suggest the vanilla brown sugar latte with oak milk. it’s basically perfect! You can order anything from brunch to salads, to flatbreads and they also have a great selection of pastries!
They also collab with local vendors, with bagels from Allie Boys, cold brew from Interval, and affogato’s featuring Liv A Little Icecream! So the next time you are in the Third Ward, stop in check it out, and stay awhile, take in the art, admire what the students are doing and keep supporting awesome local places!
